Nyobolt has demonstrated the successful charging of a EV battery from 10 per cent to 80 per cent four minutes and 37 seconds.
The charging range is important as this is the average capacity charge made, and after 80 per cent the rate of charging declines in order to protect the battery.
The demonstration was achieved with a Lotus concept car that then achieved a range of 120 miles after four minutes of charging.
Founded in 2019, Nyobolt includes scientists and engineers with prior experience in designing and producing ultra-high-rate batteries for Formula 1. Nyobolt showcased a six minute fast charge EV at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in June 2023 and introduced the 100kW Bolt-ee mobile supercharger in November.
