Data from ElectraLink shows that in the first six months of 2024 more than double the number of switches in H1 2022 and over 40 percent more than H1 2023 as changes of supplier (CoS) were made.

There were 1.372m switches in H1 2024 and 214,000 CoS last month, keeping the six-month moving average flat at approximately 225,000 switches for the seventh consecutive month. This is less than half the moving average before switching plummeted in 2021 after multiple supplier failures. From early 2019 to late 2021, the moving average fluctuated between 480,000-550,000 CoS per month.
