The race is on

The race for faster charging EVs in on, and Chinese maker Zeekr is claiming pole position.

Zeekr’s batteries are claimed to jump from 10 per cent to an 80 per cent in just over 10 minutes with a propriety ultra-fast charging station, although a little slower in colder weather.

The car, the 007, will be released soon and will be the first to employ these batteries.

Zeekr is a division of the Chinese giant parent company Geely, that also owns Volvo, Polestar, Lotus, and LEVC amongst others.

How long the company will maintain the charging lead, and whether the faster charging will be able to offset the Biden Administrations tariff on Chinese EVs is to be seen.
