The We Mean Business Coalition, with a core group of seven business-focused climate non-profit organisations, has issued a statement ahead of COP30, asking companies to attend.
The Coalition notes that business “brings unique value: the innovation, capital and operational expertise needed to deliver the transition” and embraces its contribution as visible and driving real-world impact. It therefore requests that business engage and attend the meeting.
However, it also asks that governments hold companies to account to ensure delivery of the transition to a clean future and make clear policies.
“This is the moment for business to stand in person alongside governments, civil society and communities — a clear statement that the private sector is here to lead, to partner and to turn ambition into reality on climate action,” the statement concludes.
