The Government has backed a review to help UK small businesses be more sustainable.

Led by campaigning group Small Business Britain the Willow Review aims unlock the financial benefits of greener business.

Using market research and analysis the final report will make a series of recommendations to government, guidance to SMEs and case studies.

So far, the current government has focused its policy on larger businesses as it seeks to decarbonise the country, but this first attempt to green the SME backbone of the UK’s businesses could make significant progress, with both companies and the environment benefitting.

The report will be published in May 2025.
