A new scheme is offering Uber drivers in London an incentive to switch to electric transport with up to £5,000 of grants for EVs.

The ‘PowerUp’ scheme is a step towards Uber’s plan to be fully electric by the end of 2025, and includes grants of up to £5,000, discounts on Kia EVs of up to £17,000, and EV charging credits of £750 for bp pulse charging.

Eamon O’Hearn, GMB national officer, said: “GMB supports greater use of electric vehicles as a positive step towards a more sustainable transport network. Real support for drivers during this transition is welcome.”
