Keir Starmer, in unveiling the long overdue defence investment plan (DIP), has announced energy projects will be cut in order to shift resources.
The outgoing Prime Minister said that capital projects, including energy projects, which have been deemed not immediately vital, will no longer go ahead as planned.
What this means in reality remains to be seen, and is unlikely to keep critics at bay, given it will raise defence spending by only £15bn and sacrifices, from the military, DESNZ and others, will need to be made to achieve an uplift that still is significantly behind need.
