Smarta Energy is introducing the Renewable Rewards Fund, an initiative offering £25m in interest-free funding for businesses to take steps toward sustainability.

With sustainability now a critical focus for many businesses and regulations tightening, the Renewable Rewards Fund enables companies to reduce their carbon emissions and align with net-zero goals.

Funding will be provided for a variety of renewable energy projects, including solar PV installations, heat pumps, combined heat and power (CHP) systems and metering and monitoring solutions. By investing in energy-efficient technologies, businesses can reduce their energy consumption and utility bills, and over time, the savings from these upgrades may outweigh the repayment amounts, resulting in a net financial gain.

Unlike loans, the fund integrates the cost of renewable energy projects into energy contracts, and since the fund is not a loan, it will not appear on the company’s balance sheet, appearing as a liability.
