Integrals Power has started production of high-performance Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) and Lithium Manganese Iron Phosphate (LMFP) cathode active materials at its new UK pilot plant.
The technology promises longer range and faster charging, but also a smaller, lighter battery.
Perhaps as important is the supply chain resilience, as all the parts are from Europe or the US, and thus has dependency on China.
The pilot plant is scheduled to scale up over the next two years and anticipates a swelling of orders as the EU’s sourcing restrictions come into force by 2027.
