EV using, self-driving, Google-owned Waymo seems to be getting ready to launch in the UK.
The Fast Charge, an EV newsletter, has detected the Alphabet (Google) owned robotaxi company has ramped up its social media presence. Ands why would it do that?
The activity is suggestive of an imminent launch. The Fast Charge Newsletter found that, since 28 September 2026, Waymo, has launched a series of 18 campaigns targeting Londoners with 10 distinct messages with the objective to get people to sign up for updates.
Although Waymo has been using EVs (Jaguar iPace) the campaigns seem more eager to focus on safety, both to other road users and passengers.
The UK competitor, Wayve, also using EVs and in this case Ford Mustangs, already launched an autonomous service with Uber during the summer.
