A giant 3D, giant pink cat hologram will watch commuters at London Waterloo as the Recycle Your Electricals campaign encourages recycling of electricals ahead of October’s International E-Waste Day (14th October).
HypnoCat, Recycle Your Electricals’ pink mascot, is a hologram that uses technology, provided by HyperGram, which doesn’t require passersby to need a screen or glasses. Commuters at Waterloo will find HypnoCat in 3D underneath the big train time information board.
And the cat has a job: to encourage people across the UK to participate in The Great Cable Challenge, a nationwide campaign to address the millions of unused cables lying idle across homes by urging households, local authorities, retailers, schools and community projects to collectively recycle one million cables. Cables contain at least 20 per cent copper and is both easy to reuse and heavily used in electrical projects.
