Despite the recent headwinds to EV adoption, a new survey found just under 1 in 5 (19 per cent) commercial landlords surveyed currently offer public EV charging in 31-40 per cent of their spaces. However, 94 per cent of commercial landlords surveyed in the East of England said they plan to continue offering EV charging points over the next 1-2 years, demonstrating a strong regional commitment to supporting the transition to EVs.
The survey, commissioned by Osprey Charging, included responses from 500 commercial landlords, emphasises a growing commitment to sustainability and future-proofing commercial spaces.
Osprey’s findings reflect that most UK commercial landlords surveyed agree on the commercial advantages of providing public EV charging at their sites. The data shows that nearly nine in ten UK commercial landlords surveyed feel that installing public EV charging at their sites is important for attracting new and retaining existing customers (86 and 87 per cent respectively).
Additionally, three-quarters said that it leads to longer dwell times from visitors, and 72 per cent think that it leads to increased total customer footfall.
