Home batteries are evolving from simple wall hardware to fully connected, intelligent energy assets.

Now Octopus Energy and Xiamen Ampace Technology Limited (Ampace) have signed a MoU to push that progress further exploring opportunities across European markets, where Octopus has retail energy offices.

This MoU builds on the relationship between CATL and Octopus, who previously collaborated to roll out Swaptopus battery swapping stations across Europe.

The partnership improves on Octopus existing suite of offerings in low carbon technology, which currently includes the Octopus Cosy heat pump range, Octopus Charge EV charger range, and Octopus Nook home battery range. Ampace’s cutting edge battery chemistry technology combined with Octopus’ software aim to make existing residential home energy batteries cheaper and better.
