Drax, or at least its CEO, has said that Neso, and the UK’s power suppliers, should be made liable for failures holding up grid connections.

Reported in The Telegraph, Will Gardiner has said that the Energy Secretary should change the law to ensure that damages will be paid to power developers when connections are not made on date.

Drax has had several plants awaiting connection as Neso has had to import power from abroad. Neso, to its credit, has been attempting to reform the system with Ofgem and DESNZ, but the sense of frustration is apparent.
